China LNG imports rise by 15% in 2008

CHINA, the world’s second largest energy user after the US, increased its imports of liquefied natural gas by 15% last year.

Imports of LNG rose to 3.34m tonnes from 2.91m tonnes in 2007, according to figures issued by the General Administration of Customs of China.

However, the increase in the cost of the fuel outpaced growth in demand...
