Sea-Intelligence says container lines would have had no control of the current coronavirus-led market recession if they had not consolidated the sector during the past two decades. Now, rates remain firm despite a slump in demand thanks to the capacity discipline carriers displayed
The consultancy warns, however, that ‘nothing should be taken for granted’ in the current crisis, under which any companies or even states could go into default
