MSC reaffirms northern sea route rejection as Russia ramps up Arctic rhetoric
The top three container shipping lines by fleet size reject the NSR. They cite black carbon and other environmental concerns relating to the use of the polar shipping route. This comes after Russia highlighted the Suez Canal disruption to promote the NSR as a viable short cut for east-west trades
