Indonesia halts coal exports on concerns over domestic power shortage
A senior official from the energy ministry said the ban until the end of this month is a temporary measure and the policy will be evaluated on January 5
The move is expected to cause a ripple effect on dry bulker shipping as Indonesia is the world’s largest exporter of thermal coal. About three-fourths of China’s imports came from the Southeast Asia country last year
