Ample South American grain exports will keep bulkers busy
Despite a drop in overall trade volumes as a result of the conflict in Ukraine, increased exports from Brazil and Argentina should keep bulk carriers nicely occupied, with the added benefit of a boost in tonne-miles
While the total east coast South American exports of wheat, corn and soyabeans in July to September are estimated to gain by 12m tonnes versus the same period last year, Black Sea wheat, barley and corn exports could dive by 17m tonnes, according to Danish grains consultancy BullPositions
