DSME sets lower order target as it emphasises profit margin
The nearly $7bn target for 2023 is 22% lower compared with that for 2022, or just about two thirds of the $10.4bn worth of orders that have been achieved in the past year
Move comes as ordering activity is expected to soften this year after a strong rebound since late 2020, while at the same time shipyards with fully booked slots until 2026 are turning their attention to margin rather than ship volume
