Last year saw a sharp rise in the number of ships abandoned up to 118 vessels and more than 1,800 seafarers. New guidelines aim to help all stakeholders to repatriate abandoned seafarers
The guidelines are a joint initiative from the International Chamber of Shipping and the International Transport Workers’ Federation. They were approved by the IMO Legal Committee last month
