IMO inches closer to agreement on GHG strategy revision
A draft text being circulated suggests that the IMO is closing in on an agreement to reduce shipping’s greenhouse gas emissions 20% by 2030, 70% by 2040 and reach net zero by 2050
While the most ambitious targets being pushed by US, UK and Canada have not been met, the current text suggests a compromise agreement on carbon reduction targets is now in sight
