Carriers' fuel cost recovery methods lack transparency, shipper survey reveals
Drewry study highlights shippers' concerns over the lack of transparency orchestrated by carriers looking to recoup fuel costs ahead of the 2020 sulphur cap. 56% of survey respondents said that current methods of fuel cost recovery are not ‘sufficiently fair and transparent’.
New industry legislation will require lines to burn fuel with a maximum 0.5% sulphur content from 1 January 2020
