Elba Island fires up LNG export project as first unit starts production
The original start-up was delayed in early September when Kinder Morgan Inc halted the process following mandatory evacuation orders on the approach of Hurricane Dorian. A subsequent inspection found that the facility suffered no damage from the passing hurricane and with the start-up of the first train the plant can now produce LNG for export
Kinder Morgan Natural Gas South Region president Norman Holmes said the new start-up represents an ‘important step’ as the US becomes ‘a key energy exporter’
