Researchers say reaching net zero in shipping would cost just $18 per tonne more than the average carbon price needed to hit IMO target of halving emissions by 2050
Modelling by University Maritime Advisory Services shows an average carbon price of $191 a tonne is needed to reach zero emissions by 2050, while the IMO’s current target of halving emissions from 2008 levels was $173 a tonne on average
