Russian oil price cap deal nears as focus widens to non-EU flags
Implementation questions, including the imposed oil price ceiling, remain up in the air
Greece, Cyprus and Malta have agreed a deal in principle despite widespread concerns that tanker owners will flag out to non-European Union registries. Lloyd’s List understands that the US has been asked to step in and make approaches to the major open registries outside the EU, such as Panama, Liberia and the Marshall Islands, in a bid to limit the impact on the bloc’s shipping states
